What have I got here

I picked up this busted kicker at a swap meet with the intention of repairing it. Someone had welded the arm straight up on top of it. I can't figure out what their intention was but that doesn't matter. What has me puzzled is the gear. It has 11 teeth on it and the tip of them is approximatley 3" from the centerline of the kicker shaft. The top kicker in the picture is identical to the one on mt 47 Chief. It has 10 teeth and is @ 2.5" tip to centerline. Anyone have any thoughts. lathe 004.jpglathe 003.jpg

I believe one is for a Battery Set-Up and the other (broken one) is for a Magneto....with the corresponding gear.

And they don't interchange! I mix them up when building mine, and couldn't figure out why I couldn't get it to crank through!
