This IS a joke. Right? You have got to be freaking kidding me! And the NOS thing should be eliminated from used parts vocabulary. It means absolutely nothing as far as the condition of the piece. It can be total junk, but as long as it "hasn't been on a bike" we are supposed to pay more? What if it ws used on a camel? Better buy all the Shovelheads you can right now, "cause the world bikin' world has gone crazy!

That "Dual Seat" was the standard seat on Sportsters for many years. You would think they would be easy to find, but they are not. Years ago I knew an old dealership in Fresno, CA that had a bunch of them sittin' on his shelf. So I stopped in there after I picked up my '65 XLCH, which had a Bates seat on it, to buy one. Well the owner of the shop had retired and turned over the operation of the shop to his son. The son tossed all those seats in the trash. I bought a fairly nice one from a member of this forum for $400.00. I thought it was a lot. But I guess that Keenan Tatro thinks his is made of spun gold.

At that price, they should include a motorcycle under it! I bought a perfect seat double seat for my '56 KHK for $150 on e-Bay. That seemed a tad high, but fair. One of the members in our antique club (Vintage Iron Riders) later told me he would have sold a similar, correct seat to me for significantly less.

The K Buddy seat is a lot more common and less sought after than that Sportster 3/4 seat. Not that I think the Sportster seat is worth that! I sold one a few years back for $200 and thought I really did well. The common issue with all of them is the foam is dried out and crumbling. My '55 KHK came stock with the dual seat. I find it particularly unappealing, but it is original!
