1974 XLH rear fender width?

My 66 XLCH fender is 5-1/2”. The length of the frame changed but not the width so it’s a reasonable assumption your fender should be 5-1/2” too.

The fender should be 6" in width.

Maybe it’s the wrong fender, Superglide? A stock XL fender will barely accommodate a 5.00 x 16 tire when they are converted from the original 18” wheel. Seems too wide for a stock fender.

I have a rolling basket 1974 XLH. The width of the rear fender is wider than the distance between the fender struts. Can someone tell me correct with of the rear fender? My fender is 6.5” wide. Thanks.
