Does anyone have an idea as to the widest tire I can put on my 16 inch rear rim ??? How about the 19 in front ??? Don't worry about the frame or fork width.

It depends on how wide your rim is. Almost all 16 inch rims were 3 inches wide. If so, I wouldn't go wider than 150-80. -
The stock front rim mounted a 375 19 tire. The biggest 16 we used to get away with was 5.10 16. Any larger and the side wall would be cut by fender support strut bolts.

Thanks for the replys. I have a wider hardtail frame so I was wondering how wide you can get without having the sidewalls roll over the rims. Or doesn't that happen ?Comment
