I plan to install a buddy seat on my 1970 'period-modified' XLCH and need the following part: 52051-66 Rubber Cushion. I can make one from a piece of natural rubber, but not knowing the dimensions I would prefer to use an OEM part. Does anyone have this part for sale or trade?

Ok - I'm ready to fabricate the rubber cushion and started looking for material. However, I took a look at the buddy seat and noticed that there is no mounting hole for the cushion. Please see the attached photos (If I've inserted them properly). The parts book says that the cushion was used in 1970, but I don't see how. Any advice?Bill Pedalino

Bill, this is the dual seat, not the buddy seat.
But more importantly, the -66 rubber bumper goes with a totally different seat than the one you have. Yours is the -70 dual seat, not the -66 dual seat (which the rubber bumper goes with).
Finally, I take the rubber bumper off all of my -66 dual seats because it rubs the paint off the rear fender in the two places where it touches.

You've confirmed my suspicion that the 1970 Parts Catalogue in in error. It shows that P/N 52051-66 as being used in 1970, but your assertion that it's not is confirmed by the lack of a mounting hole and a dedicated landing on my seat. I worked at a dealership in 1970 and have no recollection of this bumper, but I was second-guessing myself. Thanks so much for the clarification!Bill Pedalino
