Working on a 69 xlch project and determined the coil is bad. It's reading 0 resistance from the laminated lug to the wire. What I don't understand is how can the lug have continuity to the coils? In a battery ignition the coil is isolated. It seems that the lug should be isolated since it sits on the magneto which is grounded. Also the mag lock is missing but since the lug sits on ground I don't understand have the lock works. If somebody could explain the coil to me it would be appreciated. I understand the mag just not the coil. Thanks.
