    Speedometer & tachometer

Can anyone tell me the best way to disassemble mid 70s plastic speedometers & tachometers? I want to take the plastic lens off to polish them clear again and remove the needles to replace the faces. I have a donor set that don't work. It seems that the instrument halves as well as the needles are glued.

I think the only way to get the lenses off, is to cut them off. They weren't designed to be serviced.

Bill used to have plastic repair lenses but can't find them now....long obsolete! $120.00 for NOS isn't bad.

They all came out of Dixie. A $120.00 for that set is a gift being handed to you.
