  • Need Exhaust Pipe & Clamps

Looks like I may have the wrong exhaust pipe for my '64 XLCH. I noticed that the pipe was changed in 1968 and I may have the later one based upon the fit. According to my 1965 parts book, I'm looking for P/N 65491-52 (independent dual pipes). I also need the 65275-62 muffler clamps (the ones with the double-reinforced tabs). Does anyone have any or all of these parts for sale or trade?
    Thank You...

    Bill,
There is one on flea-bay.....a bit pricey. If I can find one in all my clamps you can have it, just cover shipping.

      William,
Thanks for the lead - I've been watching Ebay and just won a couple of the other clamps for this bike. Yes, that muffler clamp is quite PRICEY! I'm watching it though as I may have to place a bid. As far as your clamp, please let me know if you find one or two - I'm happy to pay fair value for it as well as shipping and I really prefer to deal with an AMCA guy.

Have you tried having a dealer search for the -62 clamp?

            Thanks for your effort William!

VPH-D; you suggestion is certainly valid, but I can no longer bring myself to walk into a modern day dealership. This is despite the fact that one of my high school buddies owns one of the local dealerships! However, I may be forced to follow your suggestion!

Bill, I've found having a dealer search "HDNet" for a part number quite helpful. Usually, the parts person will give you the dealer name & number who has the part. The only problems I've had is sometimes the host dealer's inventory is not accurate and getting the parts person to get off their stool and put their hands on the part. Most parts folks are very helpful.

Hi, Bill! My brother is an HD parts guy. He is not there today but I can ask him to run that number for you tomorrow if need be. Dale

                  Bill,
I justify my dealer visits as the way to get factory parts. If I ride one of my Hydra Glides, it's always more fun. This past Christmas, I had to visit 2 dealers to come up with 8 quarts of 60 weight oil for gifts.
