    Frame Date Stamps

I have an old K frame with the date stamped as '3 D'. I also have a 1962 CH frame, but the month/year stamp positions were switched to 'C 2'. Does anyone know; did the factory switch the year/date position when the transition from K to XL occurred?
    Thanks...

Hey bill I don't know what Harley did but I was checking out the harleyk model fourm and someone over there said that in the 50's the number was first then the letter and in the 60's the letter was first then the number. Makes sense to me. Mark

Mark - That's consistent to what I'm seeing. Thanks for responding

I have been told that they could be either way and be correct. I had a 62 FL stamped K 1 and a 65FLH stamped 4 H.
