I posted this message in the General Harley section, but decided that becasue it's Sportster-specific, I'l copy it here...
I disassembled the shocks for my '64 XLCH and noticed that one is a leaker. These shocks are getting quite difficult to find, as '64 was the last year of new issue and the Sportster shocks are 1" longer (on top) than the 1958-issue early 74 shocks.
I am told that somebody is repairing these units so I'm reaching out into the vast ozone of the AMCA knowledge base to make my inquiry - does anyone know of a concern that repairs these shocks? Or.... does anyone have a shock unt that they would care to sell? The numbers on the two bodies that I have (both from original and complete Sportster shock assemblies) are different as follows:
10563 and 8AA one one body.
54502 58 610451 7FH on the other body.
Thanks,
Bill Pedalino
