battery on my 74 sporty won't stay charged

the battery on my sporty will not stay charged the gen light would stay on had the gen checked it was fine were should i look next? Is the regulator bad or is thier a bad wire help don't know were to check next would like to have ready for oley. Thanks for all the help

If battery and the generator are good and it is polarized check the regulator ground next then all wires to the gen. and the battery. Do a continuity test on each wire while twisting, pulling and pushing on each wire to try to find an intermittent break in connection. If all checks out it has to be the regulator.
