  • Steering jam nut...how tight?

Manual doesn't really talk about how tight you want the steering jam nut.
I have it (at this moment) and without putting on the top bracket and nut, just tight enough that there is no up and down play and if i turn the head to 45 degrees it will fall the rest of the way left or right (this is without forks, just triple tree)..

    any rules of thumb?

If there's one thing I've learned--- it's check The Book first! Then the Service Manual..!
