I bought a buddy seat pan and the guy said it was an HD pan... How do you tell if an old pan is HD or and old repop? are there any dead giveaways? I don't remember HD ever stamping a number on a pan?

Original Seat Pan

They did stamp a number on the bottom, but I don't know when they started or when they finished. I have 3 buddy seats (1-40's vintage & 2-60/70's vintage) and 2 solos (1-40's vintage and 1 60/70's vintage) and there is a month and year stamped on 1 of the buddy seats (1975) and on the newer solo seat which I can't quite read. They're just a yellow ink stamp so I'm sure if a seat has been recovered or even manhandled over the years the stamping may not have survived. Other than that I would think the best way would be to compare it to a known original.
