Finished rebuilding a Tillotson carb other than installing the diaphragm. Watched a YouTube video of a guy assembling a very similar Tillotson snowmobile carb and he soaked the diaphragm in gasoline first. Is there any purpose to this since it will get soaked once it’s on the bike? Also keep in mind that this is for a restoration I’m doing and it could be a couple years before actually getting used and possibly that could speed up deterioration.
