1968 shovelhead rear brake

    Ok...to revisit this I installed new brake shoes and now the bike stops as it should. It's the old saying " If you don't have time to do it right you will find time to do it over."
    The old shoes looked good, my guess is when the rear wheel cylinder leaked it compromised the shoes. It certainly wasn't worth me trying to save someone elses money that's for sure.

      I have had bad experiences with Vtwin rear shoes for juice brakes.They can lock up & not release properly.I have had good luck with OEM shoes.either NOS or OEM with new linings.

        Yea I buy oem when I can, especially in the brake department. The wheel cylinder is oem, the shoes i'm sure are not. We shall see how it goes.

          If shoes are gold colored they are aftermarket junk
