Good morning, I am wrapping up the restoration of my 1982 FXR (Not FXRS) and it's time to paint the cylinders and tappet blocks. I think the blocks are natural, is that right? The cylinders are black, but what black? Gloss, satin, texture? Thanks, Joe

For future reference, someone mentioned to me that an FXRS had painted cases and inner primary, and then a light bulb went off and I looked at the parts book. There are two different part numbers for cases and inner primary, painted for FXRS and not painted for FXR and FXRT. I then looked at lifter blocks and there is an early and late 82 version for FXR, FXRS and FXRT, the difference being the oil drain fitting, but no mention of painted or not. I concluded they were all painted from the factory.AMCA #41287
