67 FLH Lower case numbers

I have been riding this unrestored 67 Shovelhead that I bought 8 years ago. I am the third owner. After all this time I decided to look at the lower case numbers, I can't see the right case but I can see the left case and it has 82 stamped on it... keeping in mind that the motor is still in the bike so I can only see so much of the belly. What would the 82 be? I was expecting something different.

If it only has 82 it is a replacement case.
Look harder.
