  • 76 FLH OEM exhaust

HI all, first post. I am collecting components for and preparing to install an OEM style 2 into 2 exhaust as the end of my 76 FLH restoration. I have acquired right and left side pipes both NOS ($$$$$). Problem is (if it is a problem) that the left side or crossover does not fit over the branch to it on the right rear. They are almost the same size or the crossover is SLIGHTLY larger. I'm thinking of taking them to a muffler shop and either having the right shrunk or the left expanded. As these are mint NOS parts I don't want to mess it up. Any insight is helpful. Thanks

Sometimes the crome plating is to heavy I would use a end grinder with a flapper wheel to clean out the female side ,feel for any high spots on the male side and take any down not more then 1/ 2 or 3/4 from the end . New pipes go together hard the first time they will work in with time .Good luck

As it turns out the NOS crossover I bought was wrong. It's gone back. What I need is a 65494-70. If you have one I'd be interested.Bruce
