    1970 FLH brake drum color

anyone know what the correct color the brake drums should be on a 1970 FLH? rear was black and the front had a siler over what looked to be grey during bead blasting..

I have the same question. Anybody know if the front brake drum is painted silver or black for 1970?

I do not have a definitive answer as to correct, but I can tell you my 1970 has a black drums front and rear. And my bike has had many a part sent off to the chromer by previous Owners, but the drums are still black and looks to be original paint to me. That said, 51 years later, it could have been painted in the 70's. All I got, good luck, I hope you find a concrete answer and post it up here.

Always gloss black. H-D never painted drums anything else, nor ever chromed them. Same with hubs, always black.
