    well here I am agin ,can somebody tell me what casting date's would be on late "69"shovelhead,,please,an thank you cylinder heads

    You will need a torch...The casting date is sitting on the top radial fin behind the pushrods.

      "Torch" should be for American parlance, a "flashlight".

      Americans can take things quite literal.

        Colonel...don't burn that poor old Trouble head to the ground.
        If you use a "flashlight" you might be able to see the cast date in behind the push rod tubes. Its a cow of a place to see but it should be there.
        Here is an example...even though its a later head. All heads from 1966 had the cast date, but at some stage I think they stamped the date in between the opening of the rocker box....maybe the 80's
