In the 1967 Sportster parts book, a retaining ring (part number 54670-67) is shown. I have been unable to find these retaining rings anywhere, and they dissappear in my 1969 parts book. I think the Shovelhead would have used the same shocks in 1967 so I am hoping someone out there might have one or two they are willing to part with? Or information where to find them? I have already checked nosparts.com. Below are photos of what I am talking about:

Hi Jerry. I have an original HD Parts Catalog. 1958-68 for Electre-Glide Duo Glide
On page 73 the ring you mention is shown in the parts diagram.
On page 72 the PN 54670-67 is listed and shows it for 67-68, actually 67-*
An interesting note is that this original manual I have has had hand written notes in it from the shop/original owner.
On this PN the person lined out through the PN and then wrote in "not used". So don't know if that meant not used on the Electro Gluide only or not used in general. Seems like it is used on sportsers
Wondering if we could get a phot of the top of the shock from 67 E Glide to compare yours. Have to wonder.Ray
