seat mounting question

I just purchased a seat HD#52490-60C, the same as pictured in the AMCA calendar month of May 3rd from top on the 65Pan. The seat came with 'C' bracket 52554-59(still has AMF HD sticker), I found the front bracket 52550-65 NOS. My question is, how does the 52554-59 bracket mount to the frame? I see I need two 52541-59 Rear Bracket Plates, but the 52554-59 bracket measures approx. 7 1/8" inside and 7 1/2" outside in width where the frame on either my 62FL or 69FL measures approx. 9 5/8". The 52541-59 plates look straight in the picture in my parts book. Do I need another ?? for the 2 plates to mount to. I've got 2 1/8" to come up with. Thanks all help is appreciated. BobAMCA6738

Are you sure you have the bracket for a Big Twin and not one for a Sportster? That is about the difference in width. I'll check part numbers later>

I thought the part # on the bracket said 52554-59. It is a little damaged at the 4 could be a 5 but I didn't think so. I see the sporty # is 52555-59. I will look again. Does anyone know the width differences between bt and sporty? Thanks Bob
