  • Stop Lamp Switch

I am working on bringing a 1950 EL basket case back to life. It came with an aftermarket brake light switch that clamped onto the frame and rear brake linkage. I now have the original style switch and hardware. The service and parts manuals are not much help on showing were and how this switch mounts. A photo would be a great help here. Thanks

Here's closeup of the area taken from a factory photo of a '52 FL (Same as yours) courtesy Chris Haynes.

Nice clear picture. Those pictures that Chris procured are a marvelous assett.
One thing to note is that the picture does not show the spacer between the exhaust S bend mount and the brake light switch.

I was on a ride recently and I mentioned to a mate that he had not installed the spacer behind the brakelight switch. He did not know what the spacer was and had no idea that it was supposed to be in there.
The reason I spotted it, was because his brake light spring was on a odd angle. He also did not have the spring fitted from the brake lever to the running board mount.
