Steve Little, d.b.a. Raceframes, and a contributor to this forum, makes all the little parts to restore frames to original specs.
Needing a new frame becomes a matter of economic practicality. If someone completely "chopped" this frame you're talking about, it might be too far gone. You posted about the tank mounts, also the neck lock. What about the other details? Comes a point that it might be worth it to a.) find another '62 frame, or b.) replace it entirely with one of Steve's good repro frames. Questions you have to ask yourself: Are you pursuing a 100-point restoration? How far are you prepared to get into this particular '62? Answering those questions give you your answer. Anything can be done; all it takes is money. Hope this helps!

Member "Rooster" on this forum knows a great frame guy, up in the Northwest, but UPS delivers. If you're ready to pay for it, everything's available. You can also check the archives of this forum, by plugging some words into "search" above, and hitting "enter." If you don't get what you want, change the words. You can spend hours in there, reading about whatever pops up, but frame work like yours has been thoroughly discussed before.

You certainly don't have to junk the frame for the issue that you describe. You wouldn't believe the seemingly trashed frames that can be restored..!
What do you mean by "quick mounts"? Restoring gas tank/seat T-bar pivot/top motor mount is a common and fairly simple repair--- if done by the right person!
If you can post a few pics of your frame, we can get a better idea of your situation. I see in another thread you are looking for a new frame; surely restoring your original frame would be a more reasonable alternative?Last edited by Rooster; 11-13-2010, 11:38 AM.
