57 flh speedometer cable

i am trying to find out for sure about the size of the correct speedometer cable for a 57flh ,palmers book says small 5/16" , but my speedometer guy says no larger is correct and the smaller started in 58 ? the clip that holds the cable is a 57 part which is for the small cable....if anyone knows for sure please let me know ..thanks chris

Skinny cable on my '57 FLH as well. I'm 99 and 44/100ths percent sure it's correct!
