Oddball Linkert M-74B Carburetor (Choke Location?)

Just found a Linkert M-74B Carb today. When looking at the throat ther Choke Link is on the left or towards the rear of the motorcycle. All the other 74B's I have see had the Choke Rod Connection on the right or front of the motorcycle. This one on the left side has a Cast arm that swings down to about the level of the lower A/C backing Plate Mount Hole. On the end of the arm is a swiveled pin with a screw to lock a cable in place. I can't ever remember seeing another one like this?? Any guesses or help?

It is part of an accessory kit that moved the choke lever to a pull knob in the middle of the dash.

I will trade you the stock setup for it.

It would be if I resold it. I have most of the other parts and would like it on my Panhead. It was simply my offer. He is free to decline or counter offer.

Chris- Give me a few days to go through the load I bought today. I have no use for a 74B and will give you first shot at it. Maybe I can find the knob etc. Jp

Here are the parts. The first photo shows the dash center mount sleeve. It IS NOT part of the set but is already in every dash base from '47 up. It has a spiral thread cut in it for the outer control cable to screw into. The outer coil is the same as the smaller diameter throttle coil but without any outer covering, just bare coil. The inner wire is 29 inches long and is permanently attached to the inner shaft of the knob assembly. The sleeve (chrome) replaces the dash center screw and acts as a dash retainer and guide sleeve. The knob is screwed directly into the shaft/wire assembly. The cable bracket is captive between the air cleaner and carb face. The choke shaft you can look at on your carb. Eccentric for the low speed enrichener on one end, cable clamp and detent slot on the other. The kit came out in '46 and thee are a couple other pieces for Cateye set-ups.

Rubone- Thanks for the photos. I looked through half the stuff I got today and found nothing. After seeing the photos tonight I know I have had these parts over the yeats not knowing what the stuff was? My own fault for not paying attention to accessories. More digging through milk crates tommorrow. John P.

Chris- Sorry I misunderstood that you needed just the Lever. PM me your address and I will send the Lever. Send me back the replacement and anything as far as bits and pieces for either M-5 or M-35 parts. I'll let you decide the "boot" will be. Jp
