A discussion in the Knuck section had me fooling around with covers and the camera. Just to aggravate the detail freaks I'm showing a picture of a Pan cover that shouldn't exist according to poular consensus. Clearly coded from March of 1951.

That's probably a '41 cover. I've seen a few pre-'48 covers that did not have the lower numbers ground off as Mr. Palmer's book states they were.Comment

The white 52 FL featured in the spring 2009 issue of the club magazine has a cover just like that one, with a "3 1" date code. The tag is upside down and the casting numbers at the bottom are illegible. While I do see a few pigsnout covers showing up stating in early 51, most I see through 52 are this same earlier type cover.Brian Howard AMCA#5866Comment
