Anyone know if 3.5 gal tanks had the crossover up underneath the speedometer or was that just 5 gal ones that had them

Don't know about '66 type but '65 did not, and '67 and later did. They used it to vent the Tillotson carb on the pre Bendix models. '65 used the standard '63-'64 tanks when they had 3 1/2 gallon tanks, and nothing pre '65 had them.

The 48 thru 64 models had both gas caps vented. Starting in 65 only the right side cap was vented so they began installing the vent nozzles at the top of the tanks as a way to vent the left tank as well.

I’ve never seen an aftermarket tank without the vent nozzles. This is how I figured out years back that my 56 tanks weren’t real.
