  • 16" rims question

Getting ready to re-chrome both of my 1958 pan wheels. They have some flat areas on the surrounding lips (from hitting curbs probably...) Can anyone recommend a service or a technique to round these lips before I send to re-chroming?

    Thanks,
    Ran

South Bay Chrome in Cal. did a beautiful job on mine. They are part of Classic Components. I pretty well straightened mine before I sent my first set to them. It just depends on how bad they are. I just used some regular sheet metal curves and a hammer. The second time I sent work out there I didn't try to straighten them because they were worse than the first set. They again did a great job, of straightening them and blending. Of course, it cost a little more because it was more work for them. I would think there are quite a few shops that do this, It doesn't seem like it would be that hard with the right tools, and some experience. What I find, though, is a lot of shops can't do a good chrome job on wheels, and around where I am at, they don't even take them in any more.
