  • '48 Exhaust Spigot Dia?

My 48 is leaking slightly around both exhaust spigots and am looking for a fairly reliable fix without tearing her down and having new spigots welded in. I have one idea which is using a 1"W feeler gauge stock and wrap the spigot before sliding the header on. Does anyone know what the factory outside diameter of the exhaust spigots are? Is there a high-temp flexible sealant that can be applied over the spigot with good results?
    Thanks, William

The only real fix is the replace the spigots. Anything else is simply patchwork. I had mine done by Joe at Williams Motors. Joe only does engine rebuilding and related jobs these days. He is trying to scale down in his golden years. An excellant job that looks like nothing has been done since it left the MoCo. UPS goes to his door.
