No such thing. V-twin makes one, but it doesn't look like the original, can be spotted from 10 feet. I needed to replace the tab on my oil tank, bought the V-twin repair part thinking I would use it, but ended up fabricating the missing metal on my tab and had my weld man Tig it in.

Good man Tom. You spotted the quality word right off. Tom some buddy out there must make this thing other than Teddy. I asked steve the aussie frame maker and flying bannana and no go. Maybe I can encourge Steve that the worlds needs this item. The way the thing is welded on. You can't even salvage one from a doner. Bob L

How many have we seen with the old 'welded washer' repair?? I have a couple others that have been done that way..... and actually, not too bad of a repair, if that's all there is wrong. In addition to the lower portion being gone on mine, the inner portion was all cracked at the bend, but was able to remove it, repair it, and weld it back on.
There are many parts that I would hope a "good quality" replica would be available out there, but ... no luck. One thing about the V-Twin tab being discussed, it is way heavier metal, much thicker guage--- almost twice as thick. My inclination was that if used, it would cause the normal fatigue failure to occur somewhere else other than the bracket--- most likely in the tank itself! Another reason I chose not to use it.

The missing peices can be fabricated from 16ga (I think that's right) annealed flat stock. You would have to have a tank with a good original bracket, or know someone who has one, that you can make a pattern from. If you have the top portion of the hole remaining, you can use that for the bolt hole location. If not, I have locating dimensions from when I worked on mine. Seems like a big PIA, but in my mind, better than using the recognizable repop from Tedd.
But who knows, maybe there is a 'good' replica out there. I am waiting for it to show up in Competition Ditributing's catalog, they are starting to make other good replacement parts for 'modern' bikes, 1936-57 BigTwins.
