  • Stock Gas Tank Valve Leakage

The gas valve on my '57 has begun to leak. I have pressed out the seat and the guide bushing and remade them with brass. I used a 45 degee cutterfor the seat. It is somwhat better but not liquid tight. Does anyone have any suggestions on either seat material or what angle to cut the seat. The needle appears to be a rough cut 45 degrees thru the centerline or a full 90 degrees as measured with a protractor.

    Gas Tank Valve Leakage

I put a small o-ring in on top of the seat. When the rod is screwed into the valve, it seals on the o-ring, and... no leaks!
