Does anyone have any info on the windshield on this pan? I have never seen one quite like it anywhere. I have no additional info on the photo as to where it was taken or when. Sure looks space age though don't it? also check out the bags, I've never seen a set of those either.

The bags appear to be Buco.

It actually looks like an aftermarket "universal" windshield that JC Whitney used to sell. They had a number of generic models for different manufacturers. I remember my brother had one on his Honda 750 four for awhile. Looks very similar. That was in the early 70's.

J C Whitney, now there's a name you don't see much anymore. I was suprised that a google turned up that they are still in buisiness. Thanks, found that photo and got curious.

I think that's a custom windshield, made by someone who knew how to work with Plexiglass or Lexan. I don't know how recent Lexan is but I know that it would be the desired material over Plexiglass. Lexan is one of the tradenames for Polycarbonate. Lexan can be bent and machined and will not break. Plexiglass is much more difficult to work with and will break if you bend it without the application of heat. That windshield doesn't have a commercially manufactured look, i.e. it looks like it has a lot of very carefully machined and fitted parts. Do you have any clue where the bike is from Brian? If it's from California I would bet the guy who made that windshield worked in aviation/aerospace.

I did find a third pic of the bike from the rear. It has a PA plate of the type used from the late 60's to the early 80's. Can't quite make out the year on the sticker but it appears to be early 70's. I agree that it took some technology from the day to make it. some of those pieces of Lexan must be 1/2" thick or better.
