Need some help choosing the right distributor (Circuit breaker)? The parts manual is confusing. For My 48 pan. Would it be the early one with the strap around it or the newer type? Thanks, Bob

It would use the later one with the early 2 piece points. I believe it is a 1947 and 48 only item. The one piece point start in 1949.

Just a guess on the base on the left. Could it be a 65? They still used the two bolt hold-down for the first year auto advance on the BT, so it wouldn't matter where the gap on the base is. My buddy has a stock 65 but I won't be able to see it for about four weeks to have a look see.

It is the same length as the Big Twin base next to it, but the control notch is aimed to a very awkward position: towards the right front cylinder stud.
There is no evidence that it has been fudged in anyway.
I have no recollection of where or how I came by it. The missing shaft is probably my fault, but I have no unusual shafts/points cams in my 'archives' at all.
My only guess is that perhaps it is for a right-hand advance/left hand throttle application, accompanied by a unique bracket.
