Hey there, I would say Parkerized as most were in that era. Keep riding them, Merlin in Pa.

The peddle and mount were painted black. I can't remember them ever being anything else. I mean all years until ya get to the seventies and they started chrome plating stuff so as to distract you from noticing the oil puddles on the show room floor. Bob L

iwas looking at old photos and it looks like 63 was the first year for a cadmium plated brake pedal. everything up till then appears to be parkerized.
