anyone have a problem with the seat support brackets on a 65 fl not mounting right on the frame. seems to matter how I try this thing the bracket rides up and out of the cutout that is suppsed to sit on the frame, almost like the bracket itself is not angled right. i've tried to shim it out but stll have the same problem

I assume you are talking about the helper spring perches. Don't know what other brackets there are unless you are using the long dual seat. Does your rod through the frame have the threaded spacers that keep it centered in the tube? Without them it will crawl up when it is tightened. Also make sure the spacers are set at exactly the width of the tube so that the spring bracket touches it when tightened.

I tried that before snd it still rsaises up on the frame, I have two sets of the brackets and both do the same thing. it's alsmost like it needs some sort of angled spacer. I've tried bending the bracket flat againt the frame and the same thing happens
