  • 1959 panhead leaking transmission oil

Im sure this topic has been talked about a lot . My 59 has been leaking trans oil for a couple months not a lot in the begining but continued to get worse I know a small amount oil under the bike is fairly normal but it is a bit more. Im going to pull the primary and replace the seal . My question is what seal is best method or what options do I have Thanks and Happy New year

    Idfly,

If this a high mileage scenario, there will be many items to address for a transmission oil leak, not just the main seal. If it is a low mileage rebuild, odds are the torque value of the sprocket nut has lessened.

    Hope this helps,

I'd drain it and fill it with diesel first, Idfly,

And see where the leak actually is, before throwing seals at it.

Leaky studs can drive you nuts like me.
