External oil filter

Looking for opinions on which filter element to use in my 58 FLH external can

Here are two oil filters I use. One is package by Emgo and the other by Drag specialties. Part numbers are in the photo images.

I always used the hard fiber filter element as factory I believe the 63840-48A or 63840-53. I have one NOS that I was considering using as it doesn't look like it has deteriorated. Maybe the more modern paper filter would be the way to go now as Duke mentioned. They were available when I last had my '60 on the road but I never got around to using them.

Several days ago I decided to for go the what I called the horse hair element, my reason is I feel washing as was recommended may leave trash. One could replace it every time. I figure the more modern paper filter will trap more, just an opinion.Thanks to you for the help.
