Dear John, most states and countries title on the frame number, and it has become usual to find the engine number stamped in the frame. You will want to ensure the frame is a 1950 one of course from forging die numbers etc.

          Hi Steve,
Hope things are all good on your end. I still haven't got my 34VL finished and here I am screwing with other bikes. Even a British Triumph if you could imagine. Thanks Steve for your information but I'm in Canada and I'm sure these old bikes were all registered with the motor number. No stamping on the frame.

              Hi Rubone,
I rarely go on the computer but found your message asking what Truimph I have. It's a 1968 TooS with a Daytona engine from 1967.
