  • Brake Drum

I have a rear brake drum on a 48' that may be a V-Twin drum. It is very out of round and everything I am hearing is that they are all that way.
Finding a good drum has been tough. Since these are stamped, has anyone tried to straighten one by using a press to bend the center hub back? Seems like I could check it up and find the high spot and the use the press to correct.

I have straightened one using a soft hammer. It was a quite teddious job.

Thanks Jerry, I think I will give it a try. I have a rebuilt star hub and an OEM drum for my 49' project so I will see it it is straight. If straight I will put it on the 48' and then try to straighten the Taiwan drum.
