  • '48 Panhead - Upper Head Cone Assembly - CAD or Parkerised?

Hi - I can't find a reference to this in Palmers - 48327-36 - is it CAD plated or parkerised?

    Thanks

Greg: the head cone you have pictured is the 1936-1938 type one head cone with the built in ball bearing race. For your 1948 you need the 1939-1948 type two with the separate ball bearing race. This version is Parkerized. Both versions share the same part number; another case of Harley changing a part but not the part number. Bruce's third edition has a picture of both head cones on page 92.
