    Radio Generator Positioning ’48 Panhead

The mounting holes on my radio generator are 20 degrees different to the standard 32E generator. This has also been confirmed by ‘Grease Monkey’ (Barry) – see images.

On further investigation, the holes are drilled into ‘lugs’ on the inside of the casting, so these cannot be ‘redrilled’ castings.

This means that the generator is offset to the standard generator mounting and that the terminals/id plate are facing forwards instead of upwards – see image.

Can anyone confirm this is correct as my bike was marked down in judging due to this?

Nothing is mentioned in Palmers on this.

    Thanks
