    hit,here thislinkert is on my57panhead just wondertwhat thislittle spring bolt for? linkertcarb.jpeg

    It is a 'poppet valve', Hdhikaru....

    With the choke closed, atmospheric pressure opens the valve when the motor is kicked, but prevents reversion into the air cleaner.

    Previous models had simple holes.

    A solid disc would draw a flood of fuel.

      hi, cotten isttanks! is thisvalve ajustable? when you need more gas, justturn right the bolt?

        Not adjustable, just a spring loaded disc against the atmosphere....

          Sorry for a late reply, Shin,..

          The assembly is peened to retain the valve with spring upon the choke disc, and usually only needs cleaning for inspection.

          Its function is dubious enough without the confusion of adjustment; It is an example of classic over-engineering for a conjured benefit,

          Just a simple hole (of appropriate size) worked for decades.
