  • Spark Coil Mounting Plate

    Good day all,
I'm mounting the coil on my '53 and I don't remember a mounting plate between the coil and the terminal box. But in all fairness, it's been a LOT of years since I've looked at a mid-50's panhead. The parts book lists 31726-48, but I'm not sure this is correct as I seem to remember it as a flathead part and I don't remember this part on a panhead. Was there a plate beneath the coil in '53? If so, does anyone have one to sell, or know of a quality source?
    Thanks,

No "plate" Bill. The coil is mounted directly to the double ended studs used with the terminal box. No other brackets.

There is a terminal box cover that goes between the box and the coil. If this is what you mentioned you could probably fabricate one if necessary as it’s only light gauge sheet metal painted black.
