  • 1965 FLH Sales Strategy

As I search for an original sales brochure and period ad’s I can’t believe how little there is. It would appear that print ad’s are highly focused on lightweights. FLH ad’s seem to all be for police bikes. I find little else from that time period. It appears that they were really leaning into the lightweight market and perhaps held back on big twin promotional material knowing the new engine was coming in ‘66. Thoughts?

    Gosh, Jim,...

I got my first '65 in '75, so I basically cut my teeth on them.

Even then I knew they were so cheap because nobody else wanted them,..

    Not even my chopper buddies.
