Correct Finish 1948 Panhead Generator Strap

I attempted to find the answer in Bruce Palmer's book, but alas it still remains a mystery. Getting ready to put the finishing touches on my decade long 48 project and can't find this info.

Cad or parkerize the genny hold down strap and associated hardware?

Black painted. And it is in the book under painted parts by year.

Ok. I guess I didn't think to look there assuming it was either cad or parkerized. The format in the book is a bit difficult to navigate given that it's a paragraph format rather than a list. I must get more powerful readers! Thanks

What makes it really confusing, Gitguy,..

Is that many parts were Park'd before they were painted.

I believe the strap was one of them, at one time or another.
