  • FLH 1957 Ignition Key Spare Part

Hi I am Michael from Germany and just bought a wonderful 1957er FLH in a very good original condition but unfortunatley w/o ignition key. Itīs my first restoration object and for sure I wanna keep the original ignition switch. I have heared that in US there is a guy who has old key codes and could provide an repalcement. Can you provide an contact? Thx in advance. Michael

I'm glad to hear he's still in business, Bob!

He made many keys for me years ago.

Actually the '57 WILL NOT have a key code on the cylinder. All you need is a key blank or any Briggs Stratton key. In 57 the key operated the fork lock.

The code can be seen on the lock cyl. pictured in mrupp's original post. I'm sure Alan will have him all fixed up in short order..Good vendor.

If it has a key code on it its a Knucklehead switch.

I honestly have no idea what year/model mrupp's switch is from, I just noticed that the code could be seen, and maybe help with obtaining a correct key. Hope this helps.....Smitty

Not for sure, it could be a later Panhead switch when they went back to codes and pins. And even if it is a Knuckle switch if other than '47 the internal parts need to be rearranged for a Pan use. Terminals are reversed.
