  • 64 White Saddle Bag Paint

One of my lids had repairs started by a PO but not finished and it looks like hell. Until I can source another lid, I'd like to make it look a little better in the mean time. Anyone found an off the shelf paint that closely matches the stock off-white fiberglass bags on a 64? I can have it shot with a spectrophotometer at custom paint shop but wanted to see if there is a simpler temporary solution.

I was faced with the exact same issue with a 69 FLH I purchased. I've got two options for you, the first is an inexpensive short term solution. The second is a more expensive, more permanent solution which is the way I chose to go. The only thing I would change if I do it again would be to use a semi-gloss or satin gloss instead of the high gloss clear I used. They look really good as far as the color is concerned but a bit too shiny compared to the rest of the OP bike.

Option 1) Rustoleum 2X ultra cover Semi gloss Ivory Bisque

Option 2) Automotive paint store custom mixed (OP sample was shot with tool for match)

    Good Luck with yours!
