Identify this part

While inventorying parts for my build I came across this item and have no clue what it is, also it's parkerized. It might not even be a PANHEAD part but hopefully somebody knows what it is, see attached pictures.

I’m pretty sure that’s a center stand return spring for an Indian chief.

Wow, that could very well be because it just so happen that I have a basket case 47 INDIAN CHIEF and 48 frame. I've had this project along with my 52 PAN project for about the same amount of time, many things in life got in the way of completing these projects but the PAN is going to happen but the INDIAN will need to find a new home. Many parts got intermingled but mostly all sorted out now. Thanks I think you nailed it, it also just so happens that I had placed this part along with the holder part for the PAN center stand.
