  • FLH oil tank decal placement - 1957

Can anyone supply a close-up photo of the "correct" placement of the FLH decal on the oil tank for a 1957 FLH? A factory photo or a photo of the decal on an original machine would be most helpful.

Not sure if you can blow this up enough for a better look at it Steve. I can possibly crop it.

      Thanks Robbie,

I was able to blow it up enough to tell me what I needed. I'm glad I asked since the placement shown is different than I had planned.

My photos show that only the FLH models had a decal on the oil tank.

Not sure if same as 1957 but my all original 1958 FLH is listed here with pictures in the Harley Classified section, pretty good pic of oil tank. Also on youtube.

Since the original question in this thread is asking about the placement of the FLH decal, I would say it's not too surprising that the FLH decal would only be on the FLH models.

And I believe tthere's supposed to be a patent decal in the middle of the tank just behind the frame center post.
